THROWN (Studs in Spurs, Book 6) Cat Johnson

Thrown by Cat Johnson

This ain’t their first rodeo...but there are a lot of other firsts they can experience together.
Skeeter Anderson was born to ride bulls. He bypassed college to shoot straight to the top of the elite pro tour, but lately all he can seem to do is hit the dirt. Unwilling to admit his career might be over at twenty-one, Skeeter brainstorms a bull-riding boot camp with his buddies, which will put him closer to a girl who’s caught his eye—a stock contractor’s daughter called Riley.
Riley Davis lives and breathes bulls. Since her mother’s death, she’s been her father’s business partner as well as the apple of his eye—until a coronary rips him out of her life. Now, at nineteen, she must find a way to hang onto the family business.
When Skeeter hears about Riley’s dad, he drives straight to Mississippi to lend her a hand, his buddies hot on his heels. Suddenly Riley has more help than she can shake a stick at, and an attraction to Skeeter that’s heating up by the minute...
Warning: Contains cowboy yoga, cowboys in love, and a romance that hits so hard and fast, it makes being thrown from a bull look like a friendly game of hopscotch.
EXCERPT from THROWN (rated G)
Glen walked over with the bull rope that had fallen off the bull right after Skeeter had. He looped it over the rail and shook his head. “Damned if he don’t remind me of you, Coop.”
“Oh, really?” Cooper cocked a brow.
“Yup. You get that same look in your eye after a ride.” The man grinned.
As Glen walked away in the direction of the barn, Cooper’s gaze shot to Skeeter. “If that’s true, then God help you, boy. You’re bound to have a tough life ahead of you.”
Skeeter could handle it. His life hadn’t been a piece of cake so far anyway. But the life of a professional bull rider like Cooper? He was ready for whatever that threw at him.
The sound of gravel crunching on the driveway caught Skeeter’s attention. He turned to see his mother’s car inch its way toward the ring. He hardly held himself in check so he didn’t go running toward her. The only thing preventing him was that he didn’t want to act like a little kid in front of Cooper.
She seemed to take an eternity to park and then walk toward him. She stepped carefully through the dust and the sparse grass. Her waitress uniform looked so out of place next to the practice pen it might have made Skeeter laugh if he hadn’t been so excited, but his mom didn’t seem to notice or care that she didn’t fit in here dressed like that.
Cooper must have noticed her uniform though. He was staring at her as she made her way from the parked car to the ring.
Skeeter jumped to explain. “My mom works at the diner weeknights after her shift at the hospital is over. She works there on Saturdays too. That’s why she’s wearing that uniform.”
“That’s a lot of work for one lady.” Cooper shot Skeeter a sideways look. “What’s your daddy do for a living?”
“I don’t know. He doesn’t live around here.”
After a second, Cooper nodded. His gaze shifted, moving to Skeeter’s mom and then back to Skeeter. “There ain’t nothing wrong with having two jobs and working hard, son. Except I suppose it doesn’t leave her much time for herself, now does it?”
“Sure, it does. She has Sunday mornings off. We go to church and then she and the ladies there have coffee and cookies together while the kids go play outside.”
Cooper nodded again, but by then Skeeter’s mother was close enough he could tell her about his ride. “Mom! Cooper said I did great and I can ride again tomorrow.”
She raised one brow. “Is that so? And it’s proper to call him Mr. Holbrook.”
Cooper grinned. “That’s fine, ma’am. Cooper works for me.”
“As long as it’s all right with you.” His mother didn’t smile even though Cooper was smiling at her. In fact, she looked a little sad as she looked at Skeeter. “But I’m not sure about another lesson so soon.”
No! She couldn’t say that.
“I need to keep practicing if I’m gonna get good.” When she pressed her lips together in a move Skeeter had seen many times, his heart sank. She was going to say no. It was no use, but he had to try anyway. “Please.”
She drew in a slow breath.
“Ma’am. If I might step in here for a second?”
Finally letting out that big breath, she glanced at Cooper. “Sure.”
“I could use someone to help me out here. If you dropped him off for a few hours a couple of days a week, he could do a little work around the place and then I could get him on a few bulls. It would only be when I’m around, of course. I do a lot of traveling, but if I’m here, he’s welcome.”
She bit her lower lip before she nodded. “That would be real nice of you, Mr. Holbrook.”
“Nah, he’d be doing me the favor helping out. And it’s Cooper, remember?”

Blurb - Vacationing in England, Lucie and her friends are finally at Buckingham Palace. What starts out as a harmless tease in front of one of the stone-faced, palace guards soon turns into the real thing when he hunts her down to finish what she started!

Excerpt - Oh crap! He looked so different out of uniform, but she’d recognize those steely blue eyes anywhere. He was looking at Lucie with intensity, narrowing his gaze as he made a laze sweep of her body. Did he recognize her? She watched him pick up his whiskey glass and down the contents in one swallow before slamming the glass on the table with a loud sound, keeping his interest on her the whole time. Warmth engulfed her senses and she felt her cheeks turn hot, but when he said something to his friends and began to scoot out of the booth Lucie quickly turned to go back the way she’d come.

“Lucie, we’re over here!”

She glanced over to see Anna waving at her from a corner table. She took in the three men at the table with her friends, only recognizing Seth, the one they’d met at Green Park the day before. Lucie waved back. “I forgot something, I’ll be right back!” She didn’t even slow down, consciously aware of the man bearing down on her out of the corner of her eye.

She was nearly running when she reached the elevator and punched the button. “Come on! Come on!” she mumbled beneath her breath. Oh thank God! She felt elation when the doors began to close but before they connected a large hand appeared from nowhere. She caught her breath, her eyes rounding as the doors slowly opened, revealing the man she was trying to avoid. Even out of uniform he was large, and the clothes he was wearing now, a black pull over sweater beneath a black jacket and pants, revealed how truly muscular he was.

As he stepped inside Lucie took a step to go around him. “Excuse me.” Her intentions were to slip out, but he purposely blocked her with his body. Then his hand was on her arm, light enough not to hurt but firm enough to show her he was serious. “I think you and I have some unfinished business to take care of.”

The first thing Lucie acknowledged was that his English accent was very faint, while his tone of voice was deep and raspy, sexy sounding. The second thing was that he couldn’t be serious! Until then she’d avoided his eyes but now that the elevator door was shut and she was alone with him she reluctantly looked up. Lord, he was handsome! His reddish brown hair was cut close to his head. The scar across his cheek actually added to his appeal, making him look dangerous and capable of anything.

It occurred to Lucie that they weren’t moving. She pulled her arm away, hit 4, and moved to the farthest side of the too small elevator. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.” She crossed her arms and gave him her best defiant look. “You must have me confused with someone else.” He didn’t look at all worried. In fact, he took a step closer. Lucie swallowed nervously, feeling overwhelmed by his sheer size, and, if she was being honest, a little turned on by the look burning in his eyes.

“Oh, don’t you.” He took another step closer, letting his gaze once again roam with unhurried ease down her body and back up again. “You think I don’t recognize you?”

Across Time by Rayne Forrest

Newly edited with added text, Across Time is now available at Amber Heat
http://www.amberquill.com/store/p/1954-Across-Time.aspx

The secrets of Adhara VII unlock their past and present, and threaten a future fast unraveling unless Corri and Devin take a leap of faith – across time.

Corri Dunn’s mission to distant Adhara VII begins on a downhill slide. Not only have her superiors withheld vital information, but Devin Tremaine knows what it is. Corri must face Devin, and what happened between them five years ago, or lose her command. Confronting the truth means facing the fact she still loves Devin. She wants him back in her life, and her bed, but she has to complete her assignment first.

Devin Tremaine made one big mistake in his life – he lost Corri Dunn when she needed his understanding and he couldn’t give it. Now they’re both at Adhara VII, caught in a web of deceit – and renewed passion. Corri’s been sent into a trap and he’s the only one who can save her.

EXCERPT:

Oh hell! He was walking toward her. Corri was aware of her crewmembers behind her in the meadow. It couldn’t be helped. If she walked over the rim and out of sight her security people would come running. She had to stand her ground.
He wasn’t even breathing hard when he stopped about six feet away. He took off his sunglasses to look her up and down.
Her heart pounded in her chest but she kept her tone cool. “Do I pass inspection?”
“You always did, Dunn. Congratulations on getting the Avery McKenna.”
“Thank you.” She’d had the ship three years. “What are you doing here, Tremaine? And don’t try and weasel out of telling me the truth.”
“We all take orders. Mine said come here. Didn’t yours?”
“We can stand here and verbally spar all day and get nowhere. But I’d rather have some answers. Wouldn’t you?”
“Keep your friends close and your enemies closer, eh, Dunn?”
“Is that what you are? My enemy?”
“It’s not what I want to be. It’s what you made me.” His gaze warred with hers.
“That’s not true,” she denied, moving away from him. She wasn’t ready for this conversation. In truth, maybe she had made him the enemy.
“Look, Dunn, let’s wave the white flag.”
Corri fought the urge to fidget under the calculating look Devin gave her. In that instant she knew with a certainty she didn’t question that he knew more about why they were here at Adhara VII than she did.
“I can’t, Tremaine. It’s as simple as that. I have a job to do here.”
“Do you, now? Part of the job ramming your ship’s titanium nose up my fuel vents?”
She flashed him her best smile. “Afraid to tap the braking thrusters, were you?”
“What did you hope to accomplish? A star UFPA captain dropping into orbit and the first thing she does is break the regs. I’m disappointed.”
“So deal with it. Your people made the proper adjustment.”
“My people should not have been required to do so.”
“I’ll instruct my flight crew to be more precise in their measurements.”
Devin paused and looked her up and down again. She clamped her teeth firmly together and struggled to remain silent under his perusal.
“Well, Dunn. You know where to find me should you reconsider that white flag.” He turned to leave, then stopped and looked back at her. “Nice job getting here in four days. New engines?”
Corri looked at him and saw the boyish interest in more speed, more power and having his toys be bigger and better than the other kids.
“Oh yeah, Tremaine,” she replied smoothly. “They’re amazing. Too bad you’ll never get a look at them.”
He flashed that ear-to-ear grin of his, transforming his face. It made her flush warm with memories of him, of them together. She pushed them away, knowing she couldn’t go back.
“Maybe before we pull out of here, you’ll change your mind,” he said softly, a touch of Irish lilt in his voice.
“No. I won’t.” She turned and headed down the hillside to her landing site and refused to look back.

New Release - adult R - m/m contemporary - LOOKING FOR ANSWERS

LOOKING FOR ANSWERS
By Christiane France

This is the sequel to It’s Complicated and the second book in the Peninsula Heights series.

Blurb:

When P.I. Marcus D’Angelo is asked to investigate the rumors of shakedowns and extortions in Little Italy involving Sal Ravello, he enlists the help of new neighbor and unemployed news reporter, Jake Reilly. Peninsula Heights has never had a problem with organized crime and Marcus doubts they have one now. He figures it’s most likely a falling out among friends that’s turned into an old-fashioned vendetta. But whatever the cause, it’s the perfect opportunity for Marcus to find out if the attraction he feels for Jake is mutual or merely wishful thinking on his part.

Excerpt:

After I refilled our glasses, I joined Jake at the counter where he was carving the chicken. What with the sexy looks he’d been sending my way and the tension that had been building since the day we first met by the elevator, I was more than ready for a little action. This was what I wanted, what I intended to have. And since one of us had to make the first move, I gave into temptation and ran a hand slowly over his ass.

Jake gave a sound somewhere between a groan and a growl. He didn’t push me away, so I let my hand drift a little lower, within a gnat’s breath of his balls. It felt fucking amazing to be close to him like this. I wanted to get even closer and bury my face in his warmth. I’d been hard from the moment I stepped through the door. His track pants hid whatever he was feeling, but the way his muscles tensed in response to my touch told me all I needed to know. He wanted me every bit as much as I wanted him. “I’m tired of talking. Thought you would be, too, by now.”

He made another sound, deep in his throat, as he turned and cupped my face in his hands. I saw heat simmering in his dark eyes, smelled the wine on his breath, the fabric softener on his T-shirt, and felt shivers of anticipation skipping up and down my spine.

He bent his head slightly. Our lips touched and as his tongue invaded my mouth, I slid my fingers under the elastic waistband of his pants and eased them over his hips. With his engorged shaft now free of confinement, I broke free of the kiss and looked down at a good eight inches of solid deliciousness. He was cut, he was thick, and he was about to make my every dream come true.

New Release! JUST RIGHT (The Sexy Tale of Goldie and The Three Werebears)!

I have a re-release that might be new to some of you called JUST RIGHT, and it's the sexy tale of Goldie and the Three Werebears! It starts out like the original tale, with Goldie getting lost while out hiking in the woods and breaking into a cabin. That's where the similarity ends, though. The three werebears are so hot and hunky that Goldie, who secretly likes having her bottom warmed, finds herself suggesting they each spank her for her misdeeds. The guys agree and Goldie ends up getting so turned on that she needs a little sex to make the night complete. The only question is whether to sleep with one of them, or all of them!

Happy Reading!

The sexy tale of Goldie and the three werebears.

When Goldie Lockwood gets lost hiking and comes upon an isolated cabin, little does she know it belongs to three hot and hunky werebears. The guys aren’t thrilled to discover Goldie ate their food and slept in their beds. Not wanting to go to jail, she suggests the men punish her for her naughty misdeeds—with an arousing round of spanking.

Goldie loves getting spanked and decides that after having her bottom warmed, she needs a little sex to make the night complete. The only question is whether she’s going to sleep with one of the men—or all of them.

Excerpt:

“So, let’s have it,” he said. “What’s your name and what are you doing here?”

“Goldie,” she said, then after a moment, added, “Lockwood.”

She only thought about giving him a fake name after the words were out of her mouth. It was too late now. Then again, with the way he was undressing her with his eyes, she was lucky she could remember her real name. She’d never met a man who could arouse her just by looking at her.

“That answers my first question, Goldie Lockwood. Now, tell us what you’re doing here.”

She hesitated, wondering if she should try to come up with some elaborate story to gain their sympathy, but then decided it would probably be better to just be honest. Something about the authoritative way these men were regarding her told her they would see right through whatever lies she made up anyway.

“I was out hiking and got lost,” she explained. “I didn’t bring any food or water with me and I was starting to get scared because it was getting dark. That was when I saw your cabin.”

“So you just decided to break in?”

She felt her face turn red. “No, of course not. I knocked. Twice, in fact.”

“And when no one answered, that’s when you broke in,” Tristen said.

Her color deepened. “Okay, okay. I did break in. But only because I thought you might have a phone.”

“A phone?” Brody’s brows drew together. “Wait a minute. Let me get this straight. You broke in because you were looking for a phone?”

She nodded sheepishly.

The man with the incredible golden eyes fixed her with a stern look. “So when you couldn’t find one, you decided to vandalize the place instead?”

“Vandalize the place?” Goldie blinked. “What are you talking about? I didn’t vandalize the place.”

He arched a brow. “What about the woodcarving?”

“Oh. That. I picked it up to look at it and when I went to put it back on the mantel, it slipped.” She caught her lower lip between her teeth and tried her best to look chastised, which wasn’t very difficult. She did feel bad about breaking the woodcarving. She reached up to tuck her hair behind her ear again. “Look, I’m really sorry about breaking in. It was wrong.”

“It’s also a crime,” Brody said.

Goldie’s mouth went dry. He couldn’t be serious. She wasn’t a criminal. Her gaze went from Brody to the man with the gold eyes. “You’re not really going to call the cops are you?”

His lips quirked. “Honey, we are the cops.”

She eyed him skeptically, wondering if he was making that part up. Then he reached into the pocket of his jeans and pulled out a badge. Oh crap. He wasn’t making it up. They were cops. Of all the cabins in the forest, she had to pick the one that belonged to three cops. “You’re not going to arrest me, are you?”

“What do you think?”

She thought she was in big trouble. Even if by some miracle she didn’t go to jail for breaking into their cabin, she’d still very likely lose her job if she got arrested. She gave him a pleading look, even more determined to talk her way out of this mess now. “Couldn’t you just give me a ticket or something?”

“We don’t give out tickets for that kind of stuff.”

She formed her lips into a blatant pout. She hadn’t met a man who could resist her pout. “Even if I pay for the broken window and promise never to do anything like this again?”

“Even then. It isn’t as simple as paying for the window you broke. What you did was a crime and you have to be punished for it.”

She wasn’t sure why, but for some reason the way he said the words sent a delicious little shiver down her back. While he might be talking about carting her off to jail, the words took her mind in a completely different and much naughtier direction, one that involved him putting her over his knee and reddening her bottom.

Between her legs, her pussy was already purring at the thought of one of the men doing just that. But did she dare say it aloud? She didn’t know if it was a crime, but she didn’t want to add attempted seduction of a police officer to her list of charges. On the other hand, it might be the only thing that kept her from getting arrested.

Of course, she’d have to figure out a way to get them to agree to it. She chewed on her lower lip. “Couldn’t you just punish me yourself?”

His eyes narrowed suspiciously at her words, but she could see the spark of interest there. He was intrigued. “What would you suggest?”

She looked up at him from beneath lowered lashes. “Well…you could always…spank me.”

On Fire Excerpt

This is book 2 of my Serve and Submit Series. Each short, erotic story of 6000-7000 words is stand alone. There are five stories in this series, Pulled Over is already out. Under Cover, Party Time and Lovers are coming soon. Each hero serves the public in some way.

I was still hiding behind the curtain. “There’s no way I’m going anywhere with you naked! I–”

I didn’t get to finish. His face turned red and he said something about not having time for this. He grabbed my hand and yanked me out of the tub. As soon as my foot hit the floor my leg shot out from under me. I would have gone down if it hadn’t been for Dean’s rock hard body stopping my fall. I let out a cry, he swore some more, and in a heart beat my breasts were smashed against his chest. I was instantly engulfed in a smoldering heat of lust as my momentum pushed him backwards into the wall.

“Fuck!” He hit it with jarring contact. Our faces were close, we were both breathing heavily but for different reasons. I was very aware my nipples were hardening against his warm skin. “Not very good timing,” he finally said, looking down at me with amusement in his eyes.

I didn’t pretend not to know what he was talking about. Now was my time to reveal I was just as interested. “Maybe some other time?” His mouth twitched with a slight smile and he nodded, then pushed away from the wall, and I was forced to step away from him. “I’m still not going anywhere with you naked.” I could hear the fire alarm ringing from out in the hallway and knew there would be other tenants evacuating the building.

The next thing I knew he ripped the shower curtain off the hooks, folded it around my body a few times, bent, and threw me over his shoulder. I squealed, feeling myself slipping as he stood. “I’m falling!” I tried to wiggle my arms free but he’d wrapped me up like a cocoon.

“Hold on!” He managed to bounce me back into position, and wrap his arms around my upper thighs. I felt my face flush, ever conscious of my size fourteen curves, although he didn’t seem to mind. I thanked God the shower curtain was red and not clear because my ass was close to his face.

“I can walk, damnit!”

He ignored me, and turned quickly to walk into my bedroom, through the smoke filled apartment, and toward the opened front door. We were almost there when I remembered Tootsie.

“Wait, my cat!” I began to squirm.

“My first priority if getting you out of here.”

His first priority? I was more confused than ever. “But she won’t come to you!”

We reached the door just as three firemen burst into the apartment. I glanced up from my undignified position long enough to take in that they were dressed in full uniform and weighted down by the various tools of their trade. One of them smiled at me and I lowered my head with a groan.

New Release! VAMPIRE 101 (Modern Day Vampires)!

I have a re-release out that might be new to some of you, It's called VAMPIRE 101 (Modern Day Vampires Book One) and it's my different spin on vampire romance!

Available at Amazon, B&N and ARe!

Happy Reading!

Being a Vampire Isn't What It Used to Be!

Savanna Royce is a weekend Goth-girl who’s always been fascinated with vampires. She doesn’t really believe in them, of course, but that changes when she’s bitten by a rogue vamp and left for dead. Fortunately, two-hundred-and-seventy-eight-year-old vampire Kaige Travers is there to rescue her. Unwilling to let her die, he turns Savanna into a vampire to save her life—not knowing if she’ll thank him or hate him for it.

While Kaige is teaching Savanna what she needs to know about being a vampire, neither of them can deny the chemistry that’s there. Somewhere between getting her registered at the local vampire admin office and teaching her how to order blood on the internet, they fall for each other—fast and hard.

Just as things are heating up between the sheets—and everywhere else—they encounter one minor problem. The rogue vampire who attacked her is back and this time he wants to finish the job he started.

Excerpt:

Savanna lifted her head to see a tall, dark-haired man coming into the room. Even as fuzzy as she was, there was no mistaking those rugged good looks. He was the guy she remembered leaning over her.

“You’re awake,” he said. “That’s good.”

His voice was deep and velvety, just like she remembered. Savanna jumped to her feet and backed away from him on wobbly legs.

“Who are you?” she demanded. “Where am I?”

The man held up his hand in a placating gesture. “Just take it easy. I’m not going to hurt you. My name is Kaige Travers, and you’re in my house.”

Savanna’s eyes narrowed suspiciously. What the heck kind of name was Kaige, anyway? Probably fake. “Why did you bring me here?” she asked, not bothering to return the introduction.

Kaige regarded her thoughtfully for a moment. “How much do you remember about what happened at the Goth club?”

Savanna’s pulse began to race. There was no way he was referring to that crazy stuff from her dream. Right? “What are you talking about?”

He hesitated. “You were attacked. I had to bring you here to save your life.”

“What do you mean, you brought me here to save my life? Why didn’t you just take me to a hospital? What kind of attack?”

“The hospital wouldn’t have been able to do anything for you. That guy who dragged you into the alley… He was a… You were…” He sighed. “You were bitten by a vampire.”

Savanna stared at him in disbelief. Okay, that did it. No more Goth clubs for her. She might like to dress all in black and pretend vampires really existed, but she knew enough to separate fantasy from reality. Unlike the handsome, but obviously insane, Kaige Travers.

“I know it sounds crazy, but—”

“It doesn’t just sound crazy, it is crazy,” she said. “Vampires aren’t real.”

Kaige folded his arms across his broad chest. “Actually, they are.”

She snorted. “Right. Next you’ll be telling me that I’m a vampire because I got bitten by one. Sorry, but I think you have your vampire and werewolf lore mixed up. In order to become a vampire, a person has to have their blood drained, and then they have to drink the blood of the vampire who bit them. Are you telling me the guy who bit me gave me his blood?”

The muscle in Kaige’s jaw flexed. “The vampire who bit you left you to die. I was the one who turned you.”

Savanna blinked. “You?”

“After I chased the other vampire off, I gave you my blood.”

“Please tell me you’re joking,” she said.

“It was the only way to save your life,” he said.

Savanna’s stomach churned. It was one thing to think vampires were sexy, but the idea of drinking blood was too disgusting for words. She swallowed hard. “So, you’re telling me that you’re a vampire?”

He nodded. “Yes.”

“Riiiiiight,” she said. “Look, no offense. I mean you’re hot and everything, but you’re definitely not vamp material. Take it from me, I know.” She picked up her purse from the bedside table. “Now, if you don’t mind, I’m going to go ahead and leave.”

Alarm flickered in Kaige’s golden brown eyes. “You can’t leave yet. You’re still weak. You need more blood.”

Savanna made a face at that, her stomach turning again. “What I need is a shower and a cup of coffee.”

Giving Kaige a wide berth, she headed for the door. As she did so, she glanced at her reflection in the mirror over the dresser and immediately stopped when she saw the puckered red scars on her neck. She reached up to lightly run her fingers over them.

“Now do you believe me?” Kaige asked.

He had moved across the room to stand behind her and she met his gaze in the mirror. She was tall, but even in the high-heeled boots she was wearing, the top of her head didn’t quite reach his chin.

She lifted her own a fraction of an inch. “No. If I were a vampire, I wouldn’t have a reflection. Neither would you.”

He muttered something she didn’t catch under his breath. “You’ve been watching too many movies. Of course we have a reflection. We’re vampires, not ghosts.”

Savanna spun around to face him. “You’ve got an answer for everything, don’t you?”

His mouth quirked. “But unfortunately none of them seem to be enough to make you believe me.”

“Because what you’re talking about is crazy,” she told him. “Vampires don’t exist.”

Kaige lifted a brow. “You certainly seem to know a lot about vampires considering you don’t believe in them.”

Savanna felt her face color. “Just because I’m into vampires doesn’t mean I think they’re real. Or that you’re one of them.”

His eyes narrowed. “What if I could give you proof?”

“What kind of proof?” she said.

Kaige didn’t answer, but simply opened his mouth. As she watched, his canines elongated before her very eyes then retracted.

Savanna backed up until she hit the dresser. Holy crap!

“Where the heck did you find a dentist to do that?”

He clenched his jaw. “I didn’t have a dentist do it. I’m a vampire. They come with the title.”

She chewed on her lower lip. This guy really believed what he was saying, she realized. And while the fangs did look sexy as hell on him, the whole thing was still way too out there, even for her.

“I’m out of here,” she said, heading for the door. “And if you try to stop me, I’ll scream my head off.”

He followed her down the hall. “I won’t stop you from leaving, but if you start feeling weak, you need to come back here.”

She glanced over her shoulder at him as she hurried down the stairs. “Sure thing. I’ll do that.”

“And watch out for the sun,” he said when she yanked open the front door.

She turned to give him a superior look. “Let me guess. Because I’ll burst into flames, right?”

His mouth tightened. “No, but you will get one hell of a nasty sunburn faster than you ever thought possible.”

Savanna just shook her head as she slammed the door behind her. The guy might be gorgeous, but he was also completely certifiable.
