LOOKING FOR ANSWERS
By Christiane France

This is the sequel to It’s Complicated and the second book in the Peninsula Heights series.

Blurb:

When P.I. Marcus D’Angelo is asked to investigate the rumors of shakedowns and extortions in Little Italy involving Sal Ravello, he enlists the help of new neighbor and unemployed news reporter, Jake Reilly. Peninsula Heights has never had a problem with organized crime and Marcus doubts they have one now. He figures it’s most likely a falling out among friends that’s turned into an old-fashioned vendetta. But whatever the cause, it’s the perfect opportunity for Marcus to find out if the attraction he feels for Jake is mutual or merely wishful thinking on his part.

Excerpt:

After I refilled our glasses, I joined Jake at the counter where he was carving the chicken. What with the sexy looks he’d been sending my way and the tension that had been building since the day we first met by the elevator, I was more than ready for a little action. This was what I wanted, what I intended to have. And since one of us had to make the first move, I gave into temptation and ran a hand slowly over his ass.

Jake gave a sound somewhere between a groan and a growl. He didn’t push me away, so I let my hand drift a little lower, within a gnat’s breath of his balls. It felt fucking amazing to be close to him like this. I wanted to get even closer and bury my face in his warmth. I’d been hard from the moment I stepped through the door. His track pants hid whatever he was feeling, but the way his muscles tensed in response to my touch told me all I needed to know. He wanted me every bit as much as I wanted him. “I’m tired of talking. Thought you would be, too, by now.”

He made another sound, deep in his throat, as he turned and cupped my face in his hands. I saw heat simmering in his dark eyes, smelled the wine on his breath, the fabric softener on his T-shirt, and felt shivers of anticipation skipping up and down my spine.

He bent his head slightly. Our lips touched and as his tongue invaded my mouth, I slid my fingers under the elastic waistband of his pants and eased them over his hips. With his engorged shaft now free of confinement, I broke free of the kiss and looked down at a good eight inches of solid deliciousness. He was cut, he was thick, and he was about to make my every dream come true.
